DIMAPUR, JUN 10 (NPN): Dimapur police have arrested two men in separate cases registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act involving minor victims in Dimapur.
According to Dimapur police PRO, Khekali Y Sema, the first accused, identified as one Sadam Hussain (33), a labourer and resident of Old Showuba, was arrested in Assam on June 6, 2026 in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a seven-year-old Naga girl.
PRO said the case was registered with the women police station following a complaint lodged by the victim’s family on May 26, 2026, adding investigation into the case was underway.
In a separate incident, police arrested one Raiz Uddin (32), a native of Bihar currently residing at Ekranipathar Gaon Bura Colony, Dimapur, on June 3, 2026. The case pertained to the alleged sexual assault of a 16-year-old minor.
According to police, the FIR was lodged by the victim’s mother at the Women Police Station on June 1, 2026.
PRO informed that both accused were in police custody, and investigations were continuing.
Police said the cases have been registered under relevant provisions of the POCSO Act and juvenile protection laws.
Authorities have assured that strict legal action would be taken in accordance with the law.
