Two persons have been arrested on charge of extorting money at Chozuba town on December 25. PRO of Phek police informed that the arrested persons were identified as Piketo Sema and Khuluvi Kiba. PRO said on receiving information on December 27, that some youths of Chozuba Town and Chozuba village apprehended two persons allegedly extorting money at gun point.
The two were later taken into police custody along with .22 country made rifle, and cash of Rs 29,000. Upon further search, additional Rs 6000 were recovered from the duo, PRO said. A motorcycle, (Yamaha- AS-01 AY/4609), allegedly used in commission of the crime was seized, which was later found to be stolen from Xukuto Zhimo of Ighanumi village. In this connection, Chozuba Police Station has lodged a case under relevant Arms Act and the two have been forwarded to judicial custody.
