
Two-day “handicrafts marketing workshop” was held at Hotel Grandeur Kohima on February 17 and 18. The workshop was organised by office of the development commissioner (handicrafts), Government of India, Ministry of Textiles, Handicrafts Service Centre, Kohima, Nagaland.
A press release by office of the development commissioner (handicrafts) stated that the workshop was inaugurated by director, Industries and Commerce, Nagaland, K. Hokishe Assumi in the presence of managing director, Nagaland Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd., Dimapur, Zakabo Rotokha.
Resource persons at the workshop were state awardee, T. Yanger Sor, empanelled designer Vilekhoto Pusa with officials of development commissioner (handicrafts) HSC, Kohima, on February 17 and deputy director, Industries & Commerce, Government of Nagaland Lipongse, senior manager, LIC-Kohima, Ienla Jamir, regional director in-charge, IGNOU Kohima, Dr. Mayonmi Shimray with official of development commissioner on February 18.
Earlier, introductions and welcome speech was delivered by senior assistant director (H), Handicrafts Service Centre, Kohima, T. Rollee Vareishim and vote of thanks by handicrafts promotion officer, HSC-Kohima, Rajib Chandra Roy. Altogether, 93 handicrafts artisans participated in the workshop.
