KOHIMA, AUG 29 (NPN): The first-ever Tech X Gaming Expo (TXG) 2026, a two-day technology and gaming exhibition aimed at showcasing emerging opportunities for Nagaland’s youth, concluded at the NBCC Convention Hall, Kohima on Saturday.
Organised by the Nagaland Esports Society (NES) in collaboration with the Government of Nagaland, the landmark expo brought together esports, competitive gaming, artificial intelligence, digital creativity and the creator economy under the theme, “Where Technology, Gaming and Culture Converge.”
The two-day event witnessed with more than 1,000 students, youths and parents participating in various technology, gaming and creative activities.
The second day featured exhibitor booths and vendor stalls, panel sessions, workshops, TXG Busking and a panel discussion.
The second session included mini-games, cosplay performances, a digital art competition, AI creative activities and a game jam, followed by distribution of prizes to winners.
Discussions during the expo covered responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for learning, video creation, design, productivity, business, education and software development.
Sessions also explored career opportunities in esports, game development, livestreaming, event production, content creation and tournament management.
Other areas covered apps, software and websites, including how digital platforms and software products are planned and developed; cybersecurity and ethical hacking, with focus on online safety and protection of applications, networks and user data; and hardware and inventions, including computers, gadgets, electronics, robotics and student-led technology projects.
A major highlight of TXG 2026 was the Kohima Round of the F1 Sim Racing India Open 2026, organised in partnership with Mumbai Falcons Racing Limited.
The event marked the first time that the national Formula 1-sanctioned simulation tournament was held in the Northeast. The inclusion of the F1 Sim Racing India Open provided young participants from the region an opportunity to compete in a national-level talent identification platform while gaining exposure to the growing field of simulation racing and related technology.
The state government had also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Google involving an investment of over Rs. 100 million (Rs. 10 crore) with the aim to strengthen school education through digital technology and modernize learning methodologies.
