2 dead, 2 injured in Chümoukedima road mishap

Two persons were killed and two injured in a road mishap on NH-29 near Chümoukedima police station Sunday at around 4 a.m.
According to police sources, two women (age around 31 years and 26 years) died on the spot while the two injured males (both age around 30 years) were rushed to Referral (CIHSR) hospital for treatment.
As per initial reports, police sources said the incident took place when the vehicle Maruti A Star– with four occupants, all locals– was on its way towards Dimapur and reportedly rammed on to a bus from behind, which had halted by the road side as some passengers were alighting from the bus.
Soon after the incident, the bus driver fled from the site and absconding, police said, adding that the car and the bus were under their custody.
A case has been registered at Chümoukedima police station and investigation on to ascertain the exact cause of the accident and also to apprehend the driver of the bus.
