2 from Assam killed in ‘accident ’ in Mon

Mon police on Monday recovered the bodies of two persons hailing from Assam, reportedly killed in an accident along Mon-Naginimora road in Mon district.


The deceased were identified as Latil Nowholia and Utpal Tassa, both residents of Sonari area in Assam.
According to police, it was reported that the duo had come on September 22 in a pick-up truck to drop materials. However, as the duo did not return home and could not be contacted, the police were alerted.


Subsequently, police launched a search operation and found the bodies and the vehicle around 100 feet below the road on Monday morning.
Though it was suspected to be death by accident, police said that investigation was on to ascertain actual cause of the incident.
