2 held on charge of extortion in Mon

Mon police apprehended two men for demanding Rs. 10,000 from the driver of a vehicle at Tinali junction, Mon town on March 21.

In a press release, Addl.Superintendent of Police & PRO, Mon police informed that the two have been identified as ‘SS Dy. Kilonser’ Yeihwang Konyak of NSCN-K (Angmai) (50 yrs), son of Wangmana village of Leangha a resident of Papong Ward, Mon Town and ‘SS Capt.’ Omwang Konyak of NSCN- U (Kitovi) (40 yrs), son of Nokmao, village of Chi, a resident of P apong Ward, Mon Town.

PRO said an extortion receipt was also recovered from their possession. A case has been registered at Mon Police Station, and further investigations is underway.
