2 IRB personnel die in Bihar due to heat stroke

In a tragic incident, two Naga police personnel of the IRBn posted in Bihar for election duty reportedly did due to heat stroke. DyCM condoles: Deputy chief minister Y Patton expressed pain at the passing away of two NAP (IR) personnel while on election duty in Bihar on different occasions due to the prevailing heat wave across the country.


Patton, who is also minister in-charge of Home, in a statement said constable Akangluba died on May 26, while havildar Nikiye Sumi died on Friday. He said that the two police personnel who died while on duty would be remembered for their tireless devotion towards the force and the country.


On behalf of the entire rank and file of the Police department, Patton conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the departed souls to rest in peace.
According to reports, 14 people, including 10 polling personnel, have died due to heatstroke in Bihar in the last 24 hours, officials said on Friday.


In a statement issued by the Disaster Management Department, most of the fatalities were reported from Bhojpur, where five officials on election duty died of heatstroke. Three election officials died in Rohtas, and one each died in Kaimur and Aurangabad districts, it said.
