2 killed, 4 injured in road mishap

Two persons were killed and four injured when the vehicle they were travelling rolled some 200 feet below the road at Touphema village area on Saturday.
According to Yimkhuing Union Kohima (YUK) president A. Akum Yimkhiung, the vehicle (Tata Sumo) rolled down the road killing both husband and wife on the spot, identified as Lothrong Yimkhiung and wife Chongki Ajung. The other injured were Kamba (15), Hankam (8) and Lashi (7) sons of the deceased and Chongki, younger sister of Narola. All the injured were currently undergoing treatment at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK).
Talking to Nagaland Post, officials at NHAK said that Narola was admitted to ICU with multiple injuries but was out of danger and currently under observation while the condition of the other injured persons were stated to be stable.
Meanwhile, YUK condoled the untimely demise of Lothrong Yimkhiung and Chongki and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace. The union also prayed for speedy recovery of the injured persons. YUK thanked the Touphema Village Council, Touphema Church, Chang Union Kohima, Eastern Nagaland People’s Union Kohima and all individuals for extending help.
