2-lane bypass road work resumes

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kohima has informed about resumption of work for Kohima bypass 2-lane road tunnel portion at chainage KM 11 Meriema village.
According to DIPR, the work was earlier halted due to concerns of property damage. However, the pending issues raised by the landowners were addressed and hindrances resolved during a joint sitting at the DC’s office Kohima on December 3.
It said that the 500m long tunnel work at Meriema was delayed for over a year after initial tunnelling work of 112 m. The issue was resolved and settled with the intervention of DC and Revenue Office, Kohima, it added.
