Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) has reaffirmed its stand that the present 2-lane road project should be completed within a stipulated time period.
While strongly condemning the recent incident of abduction of an engineer and asserting that demand for cash from labourers would not be tolerated, the organisation during a meeting held at Kohima asked the construction company to report such incidents to the law-enforcing agencies.
Warning that Construction Company abandoning the project without any valid reason or reporting the matter to it would be seriously dealt with, CPO also made a clarion call to any group of factions not to hamper the project. The meeting further reiterated CPO’s stand on resolution numbers 3 and 4 approved during its extended executive council meeting held at Phek town. To protect the interest and welfare of the affected villages, the organisation would extend its support for any beneficial prospect due to them. Quality of work must be maintained at all cost by the contractors as per the DPR guidelines, even as CPO and its committee would continue to extend full support and cooperation to all agencies till its completion. This was stated in a press release by organisation’s president Mikha Kenye and general secretary Veduvo Rhakho.
It may be mentioned that CPO during its extended executive council meeting held on June 29, at Phek Town resolved to stand united and extend cooperation to the implementing agencies for the successful completion of the two-lane road work.
