IMPHAL, JUL 18: Two more alleged accused in the murder of six Liangmai Naga hostages in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district were arrested Saturday, police said.
Police said a joint team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Manipur Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) arrested the two accused, eight days after the same team made a breakthrough in the case with the arrest of a couple on July 10.
The accused were identified as Lungoulal Vaiphei, son of Paothenkam Vaiphei of Leilon Vaiphei village, and Lunminthang Sitlhou alias Jack, son of Paolen Sitlhou of Molhoi village, Leimakhong. Police said the arrests were made following investigation into the case and added that efforts were continuing to apprehend other individuals.
On July 13, Manipur home minister Govindas Konthoujam had stated that security forces were actively pursuing all those involved in the abduction and murder of the six Naga hostages.
