2 Naga women to receive Nari Shakti Awards

Two Naga women namely Zuboni Humtsoe and Bano Haralu have been chosen from Nagaland as awardees of Nari Shakti Awards on International Women’s Day to be presented by the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee on March 8 at 12 p.m. at Rashtrapati Bhawan.
Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India would be honouring contribution to women’s empowerment, with the presentation of Nari Shakti Awards on International Women’s Day. 
It must be noted that Zuboni Humtsoe started Preciousmelove (PML) in 2011 and also started ‘Nungshiba’ Handicrafts division of PML which recycles waste fabrics from textile manufacturing units to make beautiful handmade dolls of Northeast India. PML launched its own e-commerce website, becoming the first fashion e-commerce site from Northeast India run by an all-girls team. 
 Bano Haralu has two decades of work experience with both state and private broadcast media, namely Doordarshan and New Delhi Television. 
She has set up the Nagaland Wildlife and Biodiversity Conservation Trust and coordinated various surveys to determine the status of wildlife in the state for the Forest Department. 
The Nari Shakti Puraskar was instituted in 1999 and awards are conferred on individuals and institutions in recognition of their service to the cause of women.
