A team of Mon police rescued two persons from the hands of the alleged abductors at Walo ward, Mon Town on January 26, 2025. Sub-Divisional Police Officer for PRO, Mon Police informed that in connection with the case, two prime suspects- ‘SS Leacy’ Honlei@Ahon of NSCN (Akato Chophy) and ‘SS Khabur’ Ngampan of NSCN (Akato Chophy), who had opened fire during the abduction, were arrested at Hawa Mill, Jahjon ward, Mon Town.
PRO also informed that a large quantity of illegal items was seized from the scene. The recovered items included-2 country-made pistols (.22 caliber), 8 live rounds of ammunition (.22 caliber), 3empty cartridge cases (.22 caliber), 2 mobile phones (Realme and POCO) and a vehicle (Maruti Alto 800) used in the crime. In this connection, a regular case has been registered against the duo at Mon Police Station and investigation is underway, PRO said.
