The Nagaland Chess Association under the aegis of the All India Chess Federation will be organizing the 21st Nagaland State Chess Championship 2025 from July 3 to 5 at the Nagaland Olympic Association Office complex in Kohima.
This year’s championship is supported by the Ockter Services Pvt. Ltd. Dimapur and Department of Youth Resources and Sports, Government of Nagaland.
The total prize fund will be Rs. 1,01,000 (One lakh and one thousand). There will be three categories, namely, Open, Under 14 and Under 10 categories. In the Open category, the prizes include Rs. 30,000 for first place, Rs. 20,000 for second, and Rs. 10,000 for third. Additionally, prizes will be awarded to the top ten players. The Under-14 and Under-10 category prizes include Rs. 5,000, Rs. 3,000, and Rs. 2,000 respectively. Special prizes will be awarded to the best female participant and the best player below seven years.
The entry fee for the championship is Rs. 1,000 for the Open category and Rs. 500 for the Under-14 and Under-10 categories. All entry fees should be remitted to the Bank Account of the Nagaland Chess Association, Account Number: 38071290604, IFSC Code: SBIN0000214. After remitting the entry fee, payment screen shots should be sent to joint secretary NCA Mengise Haikam, at 7005458265. The last date of entry is July 1 till 5 PM.
Any rated or unrated player from Nagaland is eligible to participate in the championship and Nagaland Chess Association has invited everyone to participate in this championship, to make it a competitive event.
To participate, a player must be registered with the All India Chess Federation (AICF) for the year 2025-26, (which can be done online through the AICF portal at https://prs.aicf.in/) and then pay the entry fee. For further details, interested players may contact at 7005458265.
Top four players will be selected from this championship to represent Nagaland State at the 62nd National Chess Championship, which is scheduled to be held from September 21 to October 1, 2025 at Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh.
