
Party workers of the 22 Arkakong A/C NPF, led by former NPF minister Nuklutoshi, merged with the state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) en mass at Chuchuyimlang village Saturday.
According to a press note issued by media officer to state BJP president and minister of Higher & Technical Education, Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna over 2000 NPF members from the constituency joined the BJP.
Along termed the occasion as ‘historic’, and welcomed the NPF members along with Nuklutoshi to the party fold.
While lauding the new members, for joining the world largest political party, Along said “Now the Unger NPF unit will become to be known to the world as Unger BJP unit”
Taking a dig at the Congress, Along said the Congress party has not only been wiped out from the state, but at the Centre too for losing their visions while serving a particular family.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi government has been working all out for the uplift the poor, adding that even the questionable traditional practice of Muslim Triple Talaq against its womenfolks has been defeated in the Indian Parliament under Modi government.
Highlighting about various Central schemes to help the poor and needy, Along called upon the people to start voting for BJP in order to strengthen the party.
He said BJP is a party that truly cares for the Nagas, citing signing of the Framework Agreement as one such example.
He said the merger was not only a blessing to State Bharatiya Janata Party, but will convey the goodwill message to Delhi.
Speaking at the programme, Nuklutoshi stated that “the lost prodigal son has come back home to BJP.”
Others who spoke on the occasion were adviser Treasuries and Accounts, National Highway Dr. Longrineken; NEPED chairman Kevechutso Duolo, MARCOFED chairman Dr. M Chuba and Nagaland BJP spokesperson O. Lanu Tsudir.
