24×7 control room set up for vector-borne diseases

In a significant step towards strengthening surveillance and rapid response to vector-borne diseases, the health & family welfare (H&FW) department has established a dedicated state control room under the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP).
The decision was taken by H&FW joint director and NVBDCP state programme officer, Dr. Imnapokim, during a review meeting with the state NVBDCP team on March 31, 2026.
The control room, which became operational on the same day, would ensure timely reporting, monitoring, and coordination of vector-borne diseases such as malaria, dengue, chikungunya, Japanese encephalitis, kala-azar, and lymphatic filariasis across the state.
It would function under the supervision of the state entomological wing, NVBDCP, and would be responsible for systematic collection, compilation, quick intervention and analysis of data related to these notifiable diseases.
The control room would operate round-the-clock (24×7) and can be reached at 7630932527.
All citizens, health workers, medical professionals, and stakeholders have been requested to actively report suspected or confirmed cases to the control room to support timely prevention and control measures across the state.
