DIMAPUR, MAY 31 (NPN): Police have arrested a second accused in connection with the alleged sexual assault case involving a minor girl in Dimapur.
According to police sources, the second accused person, identified as one Tsuktimongba Ao (37), was arrested and taken into custody on Sunday.
Sources said further interrogation was underway to ascertain his role and involvement in the case.
The arrest comes days after police apprehended the prime accused, Watimeren Jamir alias O. Wati. He was taken into custody after the local court cancelled his anticipatory bail.
Police sources said Watimeren was subsequently produced before the court and remanded to police custody, enabling investigators to continue with further inquiry into the case.
