The Photography Club of Dimapur (PCD) will be hosting the highly anticipated the second edition “Nagaland Photography Festival”, a distinctive and family-friendly event that stands as a singular celebration of photography in India. The festival is scheduled to take place at Mandeville Garden, Dimapur on September 22 and 23, under the theme “The Power of Image”.
Addressing a press conference at Peres Café, Dimapur, PCD president, Letmithang Kipgen, informed that the festival’s primary objective was to spotlight Nagaland’s rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and the extraordinary artistic talent present in the state through the art of photography.
Kipgen highlighted that the festival would serve as a gathering ground for photographers, artistes, enthusiasts and visitors from across the region, fostering a platform for creative exchange and bolstering the vibrant photography community in Nagaland.
“The event will feature a range of activities, including exhibitions, panel discussions and interactive sessions”, he stated.
Emphasizing on the encouragement of artistic expression, inspiring budding talent and igniting cultural dialogue, Kipgen remarked as the broader impact of the festival.
A PCD member added that the festival was conceived with three primary goals, to showcase Nagaland on the global photography stage, inspire younger generation to pursue photography professionally, and advocate for establishment of a dedicated photography institute in Nagaland.
It was also revealed that the festival would witness participation from distinguished national and international camera brands, with expert photographers sharing their insights and ideas.
Additionally, it was also learned that Photography Clubs from across the region have been extended invitations.
Kipgen later extended open invitation to all interested parties, urging them to partake in the joy of celebrating the photography festival.
