Three Bhandari Town Council (BTC) councillors (ward-1, ward-4 and ward-9) have appealed for an equal distribution of fund and developmental project including PMAY (2.0 Urban Housing) for all the wards of BTC.
In a joint representation to the BTC chairman, councillor ward-1 Nzanrhoni I Mozhui, councillor ward-4 Chonchibenio Kikon and councillor ward-9 Yanrenthung Patton general public of Ward-1, Ward-4 and Ward-9 passed a resolution during general meeting of the respective wards followed by another joint meeting of three Wards on August 8, 2025 held at Medical colony.
The meeting resolved to appeal BTC to revisit and restructure the Ward-wise distribution of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY- 2.0) and make Inclusive and equal distribution towards all the Wards of BTC.
The house also resolved that allocation of benefits should be based on needs, eligibility and
transparency rather than political consideration. Further, the meet demanded inclusion of ward-1, ward-4 and ward-9 in the “UNTIET grants”
2nd Instalment for the Financial Year-2021-22 for equal development and justice. The councillors have, therefore, requested BTC chairman to exercise “maximum wisdom” in implementing various projects prioritizing PMAY (2.0) for inclusive development.
