3-day ‘animal health service provider’ training held in Mokokchung

The valedictory programme for the three-day intensive training for “Animal Health Service Provider” for Angetyongpang area organised by the Angetyongpang Development Board (ADB) in collaboration with the office of the chief A.H. & Veterinary officer Mokokcung, was held at the Conference Hall, State Poultry Farm, Mokokchung on November 25.


According to a DIPR report, chief A.H. & Vety. Officer Mokokchung, Dr. B.M Sunep, while deliberating the commendation note, mentioned that the training was first of its kind in the state where an elected legislator took the initiative to impart technical training for the farmers under his constituency.


He said that the occurrence of economically dreaded disease like the African Swine Fever, has no vaccine nor treatment. Therefore, he said that it was important for every village to have at least a couple of animal health service provider so that knowledge on the importance of maintaining bio security measures were given to the villages and other preventive measures adopted before the disease strikes adding that it would also help them in gaining self-employment and even start their own livestock farming in a much better way.


Member ADB Mokokchung unit, Imlitoshi Walling while sharing his words of appreciation acknowledged and thanked the department of A.H & Vety. Mokokchung for their sincerity and hard work to impart practical inputs to the trainees and also to the advisor Water Resource, Tongpang Ozukum for the noble initiative taken.


Trainee Alinungsang, shared the experiences on behalf of all the trainees and acknowledged their gratefulness for the opportunity and privileged given to them to attend such training.
The resources persons for the three days training programme were VAS Dr. Watitoshi and FM Dr. Nemjemyanger. It is worth mentioning that the noble venture of forming the ADB was the brain child of MLA and Advisor, Water Resource Tongpang Ozukum, with the vision to uplift the economic conditions of the people through various training programmes of which the first step was taken in this regard.


Altogether, 42 persons from the area were trained by the team of officers from A.H & Vety. Department. The trainees would provide services in their respective village and ward under the active supervision of the Veterinary Department in the district. Earlier, the programme was chaired by Dr. Nemjemyanger while the DPRO Mokokcung gave away the certificate to the trainees.
