In a tragic incident, at least three persons were killed and two others suffered severe injuries when a Mahindra Bolero in which they were travelling met with an accident near Pfutsero under Phek district at around 1:30pm Tuesday.
Out of the five occupants, three died on the spot while two injured were rushed to Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK). The cause of the accident could not be ascertained till the time of filing this report.
The deceased have been identified as Paul Asangba Sangtam of Litsaowng village, Antony Tsangmong Tikhir of Pokphur village and T Seliba Sangtam of Langkok village.
Injured person Simon Tsisemong Sangtam has been kept in the ICU while his minor daughter was also admitted in the same hospital.
Owning to late receipt of information, family members could trace the accident spot around 4 pm.
Police and administration from Kiphire, Pfutsero and Kohima and well wishers from nearby villages helped in retrieving the dead bodies.
