3 held for abduction, robbery

Dimapur police on Sunday arrested three persons on multiple charges of kidnapping and robbery and seized three vehicles along with one motorcycle used in the commission of the crime.

According to Dimapur police PRO, the three arrested have been identified as Gihuka Jakhalu (29) ‘Leacy’ NNC/FGN; Khetoka Chophy (34) ‘2nd lt.’ NSCN (R) and Tokato Awomi (31) ‘capt’ NSCN (R). Police said the modus operandi adopted by trio was to initially conduct discreet survey on certain construction sites within the town and thereafter waylay the labour contractors/thekadars while exiting from the construction site on completion of the day’s work.
In this connection, PRO said cases have been registered with East Police station, Dimapur. The police action follows spate of complaints that some miscreants assaulted and robbed labour contractors/thekadars engaged in building constructions along the NH 29.
