3 injured in Tuensang-bound Sumo accident in Wokha

A Tuensang-bound Sumo (NL01D-9367) with 10 passengers met with an accident near Wokha village, before Hammock Resort, between 9.30 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Saturday. No casualties were reported, though three passengers sustained minor injuries.
According to All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) Wokha Unit, the injured were taken to Mhondamo Memorial Nursing Home, Wokha, for medical aid. While the cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained, the driver claimed a left-side brake failure.
Following the incident, ANTA Tuensang Unit resolved to ban driving under the influence of alcohol and prohibit use of bluetooth devices for car audio (USB pen drives permitted).
The unit also informed that the vehicle owner has expressed willingness to assist with passenger medical treatment.
