Three persons were injured in an accident at Sonorü river near Nagaland Civil Secretariat when the vehicle was returning from secretariat side Thursday afternoon at around 2 P.M. According to police preliminary reports the vehicle bearing registration No. NL01P 1235 (Mahindra TUV 300) first hit the retaining wall, then the wooden bridge and rolled below the road around 40 meters. Fortunately all the occupants sustained only minor injuries.Sources said a medical examination was conducted and the report was awaited. The wooden bridge was constructed by 4th NAP battalion Thizama and was inaugurated on August 27, 2017. With today’s accident where the fragile retaining wall was knocked down, the risk of future accidents along the stretch of road has increased even more.
