3 khels nullify MoU signed by Makhuma khel and PHED

Three khels of Phesama Village consisting of Merema , Seikhama and Viyiema in a joint statement has stated that the MoU signed between Makhuma khel of Phesama village and PHED on July 26 stands null and void as the same was signed without their consent.
In a statement, vice chairman Merama Khel, Medokolie Zashümo, chairman Seikhama khel, Medovi Khale and chairman Viyiema khel, said a MoU was signed between Makhuma khel and PHED for the Dzücharü water source of Phesama village supply water to Kohima town  which was published in local dailies on July 30. However, they said the agreement stands null and void since the other three khels of the village was not consulted.
The signatories stated that it stand for the “actual verbal agreement” made between the then chief minister and his cabinet colleagues and the Phesama villagers at Phesama village in the year 1966. It clarified that the agreement was not made to a particular khel or individual as claimed.
The khels stated that if any agreement was to be made for the said matter the same should have to be executed by a competent authority that is at the chief minister’s level and Phesama Village Council. The signatories appealed the concern authority for immediate necessary action.
