MUMBAI, SEP 20 (AGENCIES): Three people were killed and one critically injured after a speeding BMW crashed on the Mumbai Coastal Road on Sunday morning. The accident happened near Lotus Jetty, opposite Lala Lajpatrai College, around 5:20 am. According to the police, the car was travelling from Marine Drive towards Haji Ali when the driver allegedly lost control due to overspeeding.
The injured were rushed to the Nair hospital, where three were declared dead. The three occupants who died have been identified as 21-year-old Sanay Gujar, 19-year-old Aditya Jakasniya and a 17-year-old minor. The driver of the BMW was Sanay Gujar, and the other three were passengers. Due to the speed, the car fell from the bridge. 20-year-old Onmy Aditya Oswal, who was sitting beside the driver, has survived.
The boys were from NMIMS College in Juhu and resided in a PG accommodation. The four were from Ahmedabad and had gone to Marine Drive. The accident happened while they were returning. The relatives of the boys from Mumbai have reached, while their parents are on their way from Gujarat Police have launched an inquiry into the incident.
