Three class-9 students of Little Garden School (LGS) Tuli namely Limsen Imsong, Senkatula Jamir and Shityben Lkr attended a two-week “Young Scientist Programme” also known as “YUva VIgyani KAryakram (YUVIKA)” organised by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on May 15-26 at the North-East Space Applications Centre, Umiam, Meghalaya.
A press release by LGS Tuli informed that the students were selected through a “space quiz” conducted by ISRO and also based on their academic achievements in both curricular and co-curricular activities. The three students were among 350 selected participants from all over India.
LGS said the programme was primarily designed for the school students to impart basic knowledge in the field of space activities and hence arousing their interest in the field, who are the future building blocks of the nation.
The two weeks programme include invited talks, experience sharing by the eminent scientists, facility and lab visits, exclusive sessions for discussions with experts, practical and feedback sessions.
