National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), Kohima under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India conducted job fair “Yuva Rojgar Manch-Sashakt Yuva, Sashakt Rashtra”, (Youth Employment Forum-Strong Youth, Strong Nation) for NIELIT students and others at NIELIT, Half Nagarjan here on Wednesday.
The event witnessed 25 prospective recruiters with several openings, and interviews were conducted for around 350 NIELIT students including 184 male candidates.
Addressing the gathering, director NIELIT Kohima L. Lanuwabang, highlighted about the job fair, which he said was not just about filling job vacancies but a strategic initiative that bridge the gap between skilled individuals and opportunities which align with their expertise.
He said such approach empower the skilled students to secure fulfilling careers, contribute to the growth of organizations, and fuel economic progress.
Clarifying on the private firm employment stigma in the state, he stressed that despite having more job avenues in private sectors, parents complained about unemployment and considered working at private firm not a job.
However, with increase in rapid development understanding, the youngsters at present have changed their mindset, the director said and encouraged the youngsters to come forward to avail the opportunities as the institutions were committed to provide them platform and several opportunities, reminding them that every job was a dignified and respectable job irrespective of different sectors.
Lanuwabang maintained that NIELIT would remained committed in extending its efforts by organizing more Job Fairs in the upcoming years and would aimed to facilitate the youth of the state to have easy access to education and training in the field of Electronics and Information Technology in a well-equipped infrastructure.
Speaking with the media on the sideline of the programme, CEO Exo Logics Tiarenla Jamir and managing director NITI Ajay Sethi also highlighted about their respective company, objectives and type of candidates they were looking for.
