38 new polling stations created in Nagaland

DIMAPUR, SEP 18 (NPN): The chief electoral officer (CEO) Nagaland has informed that 38 new polling stations have been created across Nagaland as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls (Phase-III), taking the total number in the state to 2,399.
In a press release, CEO Nagaland Bhagyashree Banayat said the exercise followed the rationalisation of polling stations in all 60 assembly constituencies.
Based on the house-to-house enumeration conducted by booth-level officers as mandated by the Election Commission of India, CEO said all polling stations with more than 1,200 electors were identified for rationalisation.
Acting on the recommendations of the district election officers, made in consultation with political parties, CEO said the Election Commission of India approved the creation of the 38 additional polling stations.
