Chief secretary of Nagaland, T. Temjen Toy inaugurated 2 mobile ATM vans and 25 micro ATM machines, sanctioned by NABARD under its financial inclusion fund on the occasion of its commemoration of 39th foundation day at civil secretariat Kohima on July 9.
A press release from NABARD stated that, Temjen Toy lauded the multifarious activities and initiatives of NABARD in Nagaland. He expressed hope of seeing the same level of focussed attention to the state from NABARD in the years to come. Toy also launched two booklets, “NABARD in Nagaland 2019-20” and “Unit costs of major agriculture and allied activities in Nagaland for 2020-21” prepared by NABARD.
General manager of NABARD L. Leivang, briefly shared about NABARD’s growth trajectory and its support for farmers, SHGs, FPOs and weavers in Nagaland.
Two new livelihood projects to benefit 200 rural households each in Wakching, Mon and Amahator, Kiphire districts under NABARD’s tribal development fund were also announced. These projects will be implemented by Eleutheros Christian Society and Better Life Foundation respectively during a 6 year period.
Rev. Chingmak Chang of Eleutheros Christian Society spoke about a farm based project to maximize incomes of 5000 rural families in Tuensang through crowd funding approach along with NABARD, etc. Sethrichem Sangtam of Better Life Foundation also spoke about the livelihood project supported by NABARD.
Special secretary (Finance) V. Kezo, OSD (Finance) Taliremba Ao, vice chairman, MD K. Lea and senior officials of NStCB Ltd., chairman of NRB Meitei and officials of NABARD, Nagaland regional office participated in the commemoration programme.
