DIMAPUR, JUL 24 (NPN): The Ato Area Sports Association (AASA) successfully concluded its 3rd Under-15 Lt. Ghonito Football Memorial Trophy on July 23, following four days of spirited competition that began on July 20.
In the final match, Nihokhu Village defeated Nikhekhu Village to emerge as the champion.
In the individual awards, Player of the Tournament was bagged by Tunakivi Achumi (Nihokhu Team); Hat-trick Heroes by Hinoto, Akivi, Gihuka (Hozukhe Team); Highest Goal Scorers by Akivi, Gihuka (Hozukhe Team); Best Defender by Vikupu (Nikhekhu Team); and Best Goalkeeper by Kahevi Aye (Nikhekhu Team).
The tournament was graced by president BJP Mandal 5th Gaspani-2 AC, T. Honito Sema, as chief guest, and president Sector Unit NPF 5th Gaspani-2 AC, Ashito Awomi, as guest of honour. Both dignitaries encouraged the young athletes and highlighted the importance of sports in fostering unity and discipline among youth.
