4-lane JAC Dmu By-pass rescinds MoUs

Four-lane Joint Action Committee (JAC) Dimapur by-pass has declared that the Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), which was signed between the affected landowners and the district administration Dimapur sometime in the month of March 2015, have been rescinded and the same were treated as null and void owing to non-fulfilment on the part of the responsible authorities to “satisfy the landowners.”
In a letter to deputy commissioner (DC) Dimapur, the JAC convenor Keron Janger and secretary Zubeni Patton said that despite sanctioning of money for compensation of 4-lane Dimapur by-pass from Patkai bridge to Khusiabil long ago, it has not been released to the affected landowners till date. JAC said they were of the belief that the NHIDCL and state government seemed to have no interest and were insincere in performing their part of the job. Therefore, JAC stated that should the concerned authority desired to acquire the same portion of land, a fresh MoU with enhanced rate of land and chattels thereon, for compensation, may be contemplated and finalized within two months.
In event of failure to materialize the enhancement of rate through a fresh MoU within two months, JAC said the landowners have decided not to part with their land at any cost in future beyond the stipulated time.
