DIMAPUR: A total of 40 participants comprising artisans and weavers from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Tripura and various districts of Nagaland are showcasing an extensive range of handloom and handicraft products at the Gandhi Shilp Bazar (District) at Urban Haat, Dimapur from June 3 to 9, 2026.
The bazar was inaugurated on June 3 by Er. Y. Lipongse Thongtsar, Managing Director, Nagaland Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd. (NHHDC). The exhibition is organised by NHHDC under the sponsorship of the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, New Delhi.
The primary objective of the exhibition is to develop and promote sustainable marketing channels in domestic and export markets, while establishing holistic linkages between the two.
It also seeks to create viable marketing opportunities for artisans and weavers, thereby enhancing their economic empowerment and supporting the continued growth of the handloom and handicraft sectors.
