41 youths selected by UNIQLO after Nagaland talent drive

DIMAPUR: A total of 41 young candidates have been selected by UNIQLO for retail positions with one of the world’s leading apparel brands.
UNIQLO’s talent engagement initiative in Nagaland connected with over 450 students from various colleges and institutes during the UNIQLO Xperience Day on August 21, followed by a Hiring Day on September 11 which saw more than 130 registrations and over 90 candidates appearing for interviews.
The Xperience Day introduced students to UNIQLO beyond its products, featuring interactive sessions, company presentations and addresses by Yuichiro Kaneko, COO UNIQLO India, and Abu Metha, chairman IDAN. Through the Xperience Zone, participants explored LifeWear products, learned about the technology behind them and interacted with UNIQLO employees from the Northeast.
The event also familiarised students with Japanese work culture, workplace values and included a merchandise giveaway session.
The interest generated translated into strong participation during the recruitment process, with 41 candidates ultimately selected to join UNIQLO’s retail team.
Officials noted that the initiative successfully combined brand experience with career opportunity, giving young people in Nagaland a chance to engage with UNIQLO’s products and culture first hand before stepping into a career with the brand.
