42 Assam Rifles to conduct firing practice in Mon

Deputy Commissioner, Mon, Wennyei Konyak, has informed that the 42 Assam Rifles will be conducting firing and explosive practice at the Unit Firing Range, Tactical Headquarters, Mon, from April 7 to 30, 2026, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. During the said period, loud sounds of firing and explosions may be heard in and around Mon Town and adjoining areas. The public has therefore been advised not to panic, as the exercise is part of routine training. Residents have also been cautioned to avoid movement in the vicinity of the firing range and camp during the training period to ensure the safety of children and livestock.
