42th Phom Baptist Christian Youth Endeavour (PBCYE) convention, which commenced on May 21 last at Phom Lempong Baptist Church Association (PLBCA) mission centre Convention hall, Longleng, concluded May 25. Christian Youth Endeavour of Phom Baptist Churches from all over the state attended the four-day session. Rev.Dr.L. Anjo Keikung, Chancellor, North East Christian University was a main speaker of the convention.
Speaking on the theme “Khrista Ku Lungei Leipu Thehila’’ (Renewing Youth in Christ), the speaker Rev.Dr.Anjo Keikung expressed happiness that many Phom youths from far and near were attending the youth convention. He, however, called upon the youths to renew their youthful life and come closer to God.
Asserting God does not isolate anyone, Rev.Dr.Anjo said it was “we who isolate ourselves from God’s presence and go away from the God and the world.
He therefore, called upon the Christian youths to do away with evil, hatred, and come closer to God. Exhorting the gatherings, the deputy commissioner (DC) Longleng, Nikhashe Sema said youth’s life was one of the most important in today’s world. He said one need to be careful enough when one was at this stage.
Further, DC urged all the Phom youths to have strong faith and make Jesus Christ their personal saviour.
The four-day convention concluded magnificently with Tamlu Village Christian Youth Endeavour folding the convention emblem ‘Renewing Youth In Christ” by lighting of candle and playing the tune “take your candle and go light the world and seek out the hopeless’’.
The closing programme also witnessed a special prayer for the youths by Rev.Dr. Anjo Keikung.
