The 43rd batch of forest guard trainees comprising 39 trainees posted in 13 forest divisions across the state completed six months compulsory in-service training from State Environment and Forestry Training Institute (SEFTI), Dimapur on May 31.
A press release by SEFTI stated that chief guest of the convocation programme, CCF (environment, biodiversity and research), Supongnukshi Ao, lauded the initiatives of the conservator of forests (research, planning and utilization) and his team. He commended that department of Environment, Forest & Climate Change was one of the best performing departments in the state, and reminded the passing out trainees to continue to be the eyes and ears of the department in the field.
In his virtual address, principal chief conservator of forests & head of forest force, Dharmendra Prakash congratulated the officers of the training institute and the trainees for the successful completion of the training. He also conveyed thanks to the Nagaland Police especially the director general of police and principal and officers of Police Training School, Chumukedima for the cooperation and assistance in training the trainees in the handling of small arms.
Prakash urged the passing out trainees to go back with renewed vigour and assured them that the department was always there to take care of their problems. He also reminded them that they are the working hands of the department.
Speaking on the occasion, member secretary, State Pollution Control Board, Nagaland, Hukato Chishi reminded everyone about the green pledge under Lifestyle for environment (LiFE) to make all possible changes in day-to-day life, to protect the environment and to motivate friends and others about the importance of environmentally friendly habits. The programme was chaired by conservator of forest (research, planning & utilization), Raj Priy Singh; welcome address was delivered by deputy director, Obed Bohovi Swu and vote of thanks was delivered by faculty, Sosinle Magh. The convocation programme was attended by a host of senior officers of the department of environment, forestry and climate change.
