43rd general conference of Langpangkong Mungdang

Langpangkong Tzukong Mungdang (LTM) held its 43rd general conference at Anu Mai Amphitheater, Chuchuyimlang Village, Mokokchung on Friday.

The conference was attended by minister for PWD (H&M) Tongpang Ozukum, advisor for industries & commerce, labour & employment and skill development & entrepreneurship, Imnatiba, Amenba Yaden, MLA and other dignitaries.

Speaking at the programme, Tongpang said that the pandemic taught the lesson of going back to the land to be self-reliant for a sustainable future.

He, therefore, urged the delegates to retrace back how the forefathers advocated dignity of labour by giving more importance to development of land resource.

He also assured that the three NLA members from the range would pursue the state government to recognise Chuchu Town and Tzudikong as full-fledged town committee council status as the population has reached the maturity stage compared to other full-fledged town committee council.

The minister congratulated villages which had achieved 100 percent vaccination of eligible beneficiaries under the range and urged the remaining villages to be fully vaccinated for the safety of public health.

Advisor Imnatiba encouraged the delegates to start an era where they appreciate and value other achievements just as they praise themselves.

He added that the factor of valuing theirs and others achievements in the same scale would usher in an era of unity among different tribes, clans etc.

Meanwhile, Amenba Yaden, MLA, said that the forefathers were farsighted and achieved many milestones with limited resources during their times and therefore, urged the delegates to strive higher than the forefathers on the foundation they had installed.

Main speaker of the conference, Director CEC Dimapur, Supongnenba Longkumer said that instead of living a long live without doing nothing, it was better to accomplish something for the society.

The new team of LTM would be led by Marsanen (Merangkong) as president and R Nukshi (Yaongyimsen) as general secretary for the tenure 2021-24.
