A total of 455 NCC cadets from various institutes of Nagaland, along with Associate NCC officers (ANOs) and Permanent Instructional (PI) staff of the unit attended the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC-108) of 1 Nagaland Girls Bn National Cadet Corps (NCC), Kohima under the aegis of NCC Group Headquarters Kohima (HQ) held from December 13 to 20.
A press release from the office of the Commandant (CO) informed that the camp was conducted to impart collective training to NCC cadets with special emphasis on the development of qualities of leadership. The cadets were trained in weapon handling, drill, firing and military subjects and were tested and trained in stamina, hygiene, grooming and discipline through activities like tent pitching, tug of war, cultural programmes, flag area briefing and line area briefing and many more activities.
The camp commandant, Col Manjeet Katoch informed that guest lectures highlighted the cadets on modes of entry into the armed forces, Agniveer Vayu recruitment.
Group Commander, NCC Group HQ Kohima, Brigadier P S Sangwan interacted with the cadets and interviewed potential SSB aspirants on December 15-16. A weapon display by 43 Assam Rifles Bn and lecture cum demonstration on disaster management by the state disaster response force was conducted on December 18. A cultural programme cum prize distribution ceremony was conducted on December 19 and cadets dispersed from camp on December 20.
