DIMAPUR, AUG 31 (NPN): The ongoing 4th edition of the Late I. Pihoto Awomi Memorial Inter-Club Tournament 2026 witnessed two exciting league encounters at the SCG, Chumoukedima with Esa Legends and Whiskers CC registering impressive victories.
In a rain-hit 12-over contest, Esa Legends defeated Victoria CC by 21 runs. After being reduced to 26/3, Esa Legends recovered to post 97/5, led by captain Rakesh Pal’s 26 off 23 balls and a late flourish from Yashimeren Jamir, who remained unbeaten on 15 off 7 deliveries. Arinjay Jain contributed 18.
Chasing 98, Victoria CC faltered despite Protik Kalbhor’s 24 and D Kalu Rao’s 17, finishing at 76/7. Kihika T Sumi claimed 2/18, while skipper Rakesh Pal impressed with 1/7 in two overs, earning the Man of the Match award for his all-round performance.
In the second match, Whiskers CC cruised to an eight-wicket win over Valor CC at SCG Ground. Valor CC posted 143/7 in 20 overs, with Rahul Kr Singh (30), Mugavi Wotsa (29) and Imlikaba (24) among the contributors. Whiskers CC chased down the target in 19 overs, finishing at 146/2. Dipu Gupta anchored the innings with an unbeaten 51 off 52 balls, supported by Amit Singh Rajput’s 41 and Deepak Sahoo’s quickfire 36 off 20 deliveries. Gupta, who also picked up 2/32 with the ball, was named Man of the Match for his all-round display.
