All the 5 ACCCs and frontals held an emergency meeting at district Congress bhavan on October 12, wherein they expressed deep anguish over the statement made by the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) general secretary (Admn) N. Yona Konyak which appeared on local dailies on October 11 and 12 respectively.

A press release from1 Dimapur I A/C working president Lhokiye Chophy, 2 Dimapur II A/C vice president Sedevile Nagi, 3 Dimapur III A/C general secretary Richard, 4 Ghaspani I A/C Zhekhuyi Swu, 5 Ghaspani II A/C president Alex Yepthomi and DYC president Mukhe Yimchunger stated that, Dimapur District Congress party workers were shocked to learn at how the president of 2 Dimapur II A/C was dragged into the party crisis that cropped up on October 2.

The release stated that, it was immature and irresponsible on the part of N. Yona Konyak general secretary (Admn) NPCC for defaming I. Asang Jamir without any fact findings and evidences accusing the party workers.  It further stated that baseless allegation made by the NPCC by dragging I. Asang Jamir on the assault of Nagavito Swu was totally a blunder and misleading.

Subsequently, the disrupting of 150th birth anniversary celebration of Mahatma Gandhi padyatra does not arise as it was never an ill intention nor I. Asang Jamir instigated the party workers as alleged, stated the release.

The signatories also stated that I. Asang Jamir was a humble innocent party loyalist, yet in spite of his selfless service rendered towards the party, the NPCC defaming him is not acceptable. The party workers of DDCC and frontals has therefore resolved and demanded that NPCC should revoke the suspension order and also tender unconditional apology through print media at the earliest.
