5 teachers receive Nation Builder Award 2023

Five teachers received the Nation Builder Award 2023 initiated by Literary Committee of Rotary Club of Mokokchung. The award was handed over at the programme held at Rotary House Mokokchung on October 4.


The recipients of the award were: S. Imnajungshi Changkiri (GHSS, Mangkolemba), Tianaro Longkumer (Eden Academy), Limachawa (Merachiba Memorial GHS Merangkong), Obanglemla (Christian Residential Higher Secondary School), and Merangnaro (Baptist HSS Mangkolemba).


The award has been instituted to acknowledge the valuable contributions of educators and to pay tributes to the teachers for their service towards humanity. The program was graced by Sr, SDEO Mokokchung, Jonglemdong Longkumer as the guest of honour.


In his speech, Jonglemdong acknowledged the Rotary Club’s commendable efforts in recognizing and honoring individuals who have made significant contributions to society.


He highlighted the crucial role of teachers and remarked, “Teachers are the builders of the nation.”
Jonglemdong also advised the teachers to uphold their role as facilitators and role models with utmost care as society have high expectation from them.


The presentation of award was initiated by I. Temsu Jamir, chair of the Literary Committee. Before handing the awards, Jamir said the awards were bestowed upon deserving teachers, based on various criteria such as classroom practice, behavior, and conduct with students, going beyond the call of duty, and punctuality.
The program was chaired by Tiarenla Jamir, president of RC Mokokchung.
