5 Tribes Committee on Review of Reservation Policy (CoRRP) has expressed disappointment with the chief secretary clarification, which requested CSOs to nominate “credible and qualified person” from the communities they represent to be a member in the proposed Reservation Review Commission (RRC) and not office bearers of CSOs.
CoRRP convenor Er Tesinlo Semy and member secretary GK Zhimomi said that it this was the outcome of state cabinet meeting that took place on August 18, 2025, then it was “a direct insult” to the collective intelligence of 5 tribes. It said their demand in the first place was for total exclusion of CSOs from the proposed commission, whether be it office bearers or nominee. CoRRP reaffirmed that they stood by their August 9 resolution, which was reproduced in their representation submitted to the state government.
CoRRP said they expected the government to give them positive response “instead of attempting to delay and deny the legitimate demands” raised in their representation. Meanwhile, CoRRP affirmed that non-participation in all state government events would continue until further orders.
