5 tribes decline invitation to Gov’s swearing-in

Five apex tribal bodies- Angami Public Organization, Ao Senden, Lotha Hoho, Rengma Hoho and Sumi Hoho- under the banner of 5 Tribes Committee on Review of Reservation Policy (CoRRP), have declined the state government’s invitation to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Nagaland Governor scheduled for August 25.
CoRRP convenor Er. Tesinlo Semy and member secretary G.K. Zhimom, while acknowledging the invitation, expressed regret for their inability to attend the event. The decision, they stated, was in accordance with their resolution adopted on August 9, which remains in force. The committee cited government’s continued disregard of their legitimate demands despite repeated reminders as the reason for their non-attendance.
