50k applicants for 600 Grade III posts

Correspondent

The magnitude of unemployment in Nagaland can be clearly gauged from the fact that Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) received over 50,000 applications for the recently-advertised 600 Grade III posts.
Sources from NSSB informed Nagaland Post that the board had received more than 50,000 ap-plications, though some applicants did not fulfil the criteria and their applications were rejected.
The sources said the examination scheduled on November 11 and 12 would be conducted in all districts barring Noklak, Shamator and Nuiland.
When queried, it was informed that each of the three districts did not fulfil the criterion of hav-ing at least 300 candidates. Candidates from these three districts would however be able to ap-pear for the exam from their nearest examination centres.
It was also informed that Kohima had the highest number of applicants (18,000), followed by Dimapur with over 16,000 applicants. This will be the first exam to be conducted by NSSB after it was constituted.
Board officials exuded confidence of being to conduct the exam in a fair and transparent man-ner, without leaving any room for anyone to cast any doubt of manipulation.
