Along with the rest of the country, Nagaland also observed the 53rd National Safety Day by launching a week-long campaign on March 4, spearheaded by the Labour Department. The day was observed at various location in the state by carrying out poster campaign on the theme “Focus on safety leadership for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) excellence”.
The objective of the National Safety Day and campaign was to help industries and other establishment to innovate and promote safety.
The goal of the National Safety Day campaign 2024 was to ensure that factories or establishment in the State take into account not only their profit margin but also the impact they have on the environment and society as a whole.
To mark the day, some workers who had shown exemplary behaviors toward Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) performance and commitment to reduce workplace injuries were awarded in recognition to their commitment toward OSH.
They were also encouraged for continual improvements toward OSH and also to encourage their co-workers.
