59th PVSU annual session concludes

Pongidong Village Students Union (PVSU) held its annual session from December 29 to 30 under the theme, “shouldering ones responsibility” at community hall, Pongidong, with Redt. additional planning commissioner C.N.Ovung as the chief guest. The theme speaker was inspector special branch Wokha, Nchumbemo Humtsoe.
The theme speaker reminded that from dawn to dark everyone had various responsibilities like social, moral, economy, political and so on. He therefore asked the students to be wary their responsibility, which would transcend and wane all chaos and confusion in one’s life and in the society.
Quoting that, “students life is an investment of the parents”, C. N. Ovung said that one must question oneself, what would be the return to the parents. While exhorting that student’s life was the best stage of life, Ovung cautioned the students to be wise and choose the right path.
He also cautioned the students pursuing their studies in the metro cities and towns not to be carried away in the glamour world but carry on with one’s duties diligently, invest and explode one’s full potential in the studies. 
Earlier in the programme, welcome address was delivered by president PVSU Nzanchumo Humtsoe, annual report was read out by general secretary Benathung Tsopoe and finance secretary Liyani Emangrui. Special song was presented by college students while pastor Pongidong Baptist Church, Rev. Rapvuo Odyuo invoked God’s blessing and Mosa said the benediction.
The union also elected/selected a new team of office bearers for the tenure 2017-19, which would be headed by Jonjibemo Tsopoe as president, general secretary Mhachamo Humtsoe, Lidemo (Alex) Lotha as finance along with others.  New office bearers were blessed by pastor Christian Revival Church, Rev. Elhio, while Ben Lotha youth director shared the word of God.
