The 5th death anniversary of Asu Isak Chishi swu was observed under the initiative of Green Club Zunheboto at Chishilimi with representatives from Apex tribal Hohos, civil societies and well wishers.
In a press release, Green Club Zunheboto informed that during the introductory remark, Green Club Zunheboto president Tavinto K. Sumi highlighted on the importance of the day.
In a short speech, NSCN (I-M), Sümi region CAO, Pasheto Swu said that the “government” had already rolled out the plan for the layout of the graveyard construction as a historical site. However, he said that the progress could not be made as planned due to the pandemic.
He further said that a book on late Isak Chishi Swu was under process for the past one year and would hopefully be released by next year.
In another speech, Zunheboto Area Public Organisation (ZAPO) vice president, Kakugha S. Rotokha also said that an NGO had for the first time organised his death anniversary and further encouraged frontal organisations to continue the observation of the leader’s death anniversary.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Angukato Sumi, invocation by Chishilimi Baptist Church youth pastor, Vikato Achumi and a prayer for late Isak Chishi Swu and his family from Shetoni Swu, Chishilimi Baptist Church children pastor.
Wreaths were also laid on behalf of NSCN (I-M), family of late Isak Chishi Swu, Sumi Hoho, Sumi Kukami Hoho, Sumi Totimi Hoho Apex, Sumi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu, ZAPO, Zunheboto Town GB Association, Zunheboto Sumi Totimi Hoho, Western Sumi Youth Front, Zunheboto Area Sports Association, Sumi Alokumsumi Mqo and Green Club Zunheboto.
During the programme, Mughakhi Kinto Zhimomi also contributed a frame of an ode which he won in the competition initiated by Sümi Küküpütsa, “ode to Asu Isak Chishi Swu” competition in 2016, calligraphed by Hitoka K. Achumi and art by Linali T. Shohe.
