The 5th edition of Women Basketball Tournament organized by the Vision Trinity concluded on Saturday with Orca team as the champion. Orca team with 46 points walked away with cash prize of Rs.30,000, followed by Touchline Basketball Academy Shillong winning Rs. 15,000 with 35 points.
Ketobu Vitsu, vice president Southern Angami Sports Association (SASA) who graced the occasion as special guest gave away the prizes. The best discipline team was awarded to the Touchline Basketball Academy,
Shimti Mawl from Touchline Basketball Academy won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Sangjem Jamir from team Orca scored the most points,and Viketule thami Loyola won the most promising player. A reward for the best jersey was given to Team TMB.
The three day tournament was held at Loyola Higher Secondary school, Jakhama. 7 teams in total participated from Kohima, Zubza and Shillong. An exhibition match was also played between the Kohima District Basketball Association (KDBA) and vision trinity (VT) team where KDBA won with 16 points and VT scored 15 points.
